This is a nice example of a (non-Colt) early pre-ban Colt match Target receiver, assembled with a complete commercial carbine upper barrel and receiver group. The receiver was manufactured in 1978 and now has shot heavy match target barrel, fixed front post, fully adjustable rear target sights and correct pre-ban bayonet lug. Left side of receiver is marked "MATCH TARGET/MATCH HBAR/CAL 223". Hand guard is standard plastic with aluminum lining. Stock is straight with a checkered plastic trapdoor buttplate. Includes a black nylon sling.
