Manufactured in 1949. The barrel has a beaded blade front sight and an elevation adjustable rear sight. The octagon barrel has the first style inscription used pre-war. The top of the barrel and receiver have the "W/P" proofmark. The upper receiver tang is threaded for a rear peep sight with filler screws installed. Mounted on a 17-groove walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with a checkered steel buttplate.

Very fine as possibly rebarreled, 90% plus of the original blue finish remains with some high edge wear, some cycling wear and some scattered minor scratches. The peep sight holes are non-factory and the top tang has a ding. The stock set is very good with scattered scratches and dings. Mechanically excellent. Still a desirable Model 61!
