Description:

This musket has an engraved Spanish patilla style miquelet lock with inset "G/PA/PA" marking. The octagonal section of the barrel has a series of unclear proofmarks, and the barrel is equipped with a single round bead sight at the muzzle. It is fitted with a nearly full length stock with mostly floral engraved brass furniture, carved lines along much of the forend, a single barrel band, sling swivels just behind the band and on the bottom of the butt, a short checkered wrist, fluted butt, iron buttplate with engraved brass tang that appears to be marked "1808", skeletal side plate, and trigger guard with grip extension. It included a ramrod with wooden tip.

Rating Definition:

Fair. The brass components have an aged patina while the remainder has a dark brown patina with pitting. The revarnished wood is also fair with fairly crisp checkering, a variety of minor scratches and dings, and some absent chips and slivers. Mechanically fine.
