Description:

This carbine has "L arrow S" on the right side of the frame, a series of proofmarks on the underside of the barrel including a Liege black powder proof, and blade front and adjustable folding ladder rear sights graduated to "12" on the ladder and "2", "3", "350/VV" and "4" on the left side of the base. It has a Martini style frame/action but uses a lever on the right side to raise and lower the breech block instead of a lever behind the trigger guard. It is fitted on a smooth walnut stock and forearm with two barrel bands, sling swivels, and mostly flat buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The rifle retains 70% plus of the original blue finish, vibrant case colors on the breech block, and a brown patina on the balance. There are some minor scratches scattered throughout along with spots of oxidation. The buttplate has some pitting. The wood is very good with exception of a series of small insect holes in the butt and some scattered minor scrapes. Mechanically fine with mostly clear markings.
