Developed in the 1850s in Paris, France, this example of the Jarre Harmonica pistol has a 10-round horizontal block which is pre-loaded with pinfire cartridges and automatically advances between chambers when the pistol is cocked. The action is double action only. This arrangement represented a significant increase in on-hand firepower for the era, even when compared to other repeating pinfire arms of the same time period. It has no sights, an ejector rod threaded into the rear strap, "166: on the left side of the barrel group, "8" on the underside of the pin block, a "2" on the frame behind the barrel group, the Jarre & Company logo on the upper right of the barrel assembly, Liege proofs, and smooth walnut grips with high polish finish.

Good. The pistol has a primarily a brown-gray patina with some light pitting. There grips are fair with numerous small nicks and scrapes along with a small chip out of the right panel at the front. The action sticks on some of the chambers and thus could use some minor attention.
