The upper tang is stamped with the three-line model/trade mark information. The serial number is stamped on the underside of the frame and on the front underside of the receiver. It has dovetailed blade front and adjustable buck horn rear sights, a full length magazine tube, and is mounted with a smooth walnut forearm and straight grip stock. It has a blue finish with casehardened hammer, lever, forend cap and crescent buttplate. The accompanying Cody Firearms Museum Records Office sheet lists the rifle configuration. It also lists the serial number as applied on February 2, 1903, and the rifle shipped with order number 187279 on July 1, 1903.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The rifle retains 50% plus thin original blue finish with edge wear and some areas of smooth gray patina. The hammer retains most of the original faded case colors, and the lever, forend cap and buttplate have a mottled gray patina with some minor spotting and flashes of original case colors in protected areas. The wood is about good with a hole on the belly of the stock where a sling swivel has been removed and overall scattered minor dents, dings and scratches. Mechanically fine with clear markings.
