Description:

Measuring 27 inches in overall length, with a 32 inch curved single fuller blade, marked "GEO.S./GETHENS Co./PHILA./PA." on the left ricasso, with a 21 inch etched panel on each side, marked "U.S." on the left and "Edward Hubbs" on the right. The brass hilt is dual plated, nickel over copper, with a 3-branch guard and a contoured original ivory grip with an oak leaf decorative pattern on the sides. With a nickel finished scabbard, engraved between the suspension bands "Presented To/Major Edward Hubbs/By The Officers of the 2nd Battalion/108th Field Artillery/OCTOBER 28-1929", with a single chain hanger. The 108th Field Artillery, a unit of the Pennsylvania National Guard, traces its unit legacy to before the American Civil War, and the 108th and it's descendants saw combat in World War II, Korea and in post-Saddam Iraq.

Rating Definition:

Very good. Some mild handling marks are present overall, with some bubbling and flaking of the nickel finish, areas of visible copper and brass on the hilt, a few age cracks and stains on the grip, and moderate edge wear.
