Description:

1) U.S. Ames Model 1906 Sword, 40 1/2 inches overall with a 35 inch double fuller blade marked "A.S.Co./bomb/1906" and "U.S./JC" on the ricasso. Steel 2-branch guard with a wire-wrapped leather grip and a helmet pommel. With a nickel-finished scabbard marked "8" on the drag. 2) U.S. Ames Model 1905 Experimental Sword, 38 inches overall, 31 1/2 inch single fuller blade with "U.S." and "A.S.Co./bomb/1906" on the ricasso. Steel guard with a wire wrapped sharkskin grip and a flared and checkered pommel. With a leather covered sheath.

Rating Definition:

1) Good with mild scuffs and spotting on the blade, a mixed gray patina on the hilt, scuffing of the grip and mild pitting and bubbling on the scabbard. 2) Very good. The edge shows a number of small dings with scattered shallow pitting. A brown patina is showing on the hilt with some cracking of the sharkskin. Sheath is fair.
