This is a fabulous example of a very rare early wartime Nazi Commercial Walther PP pistol chambered in the very desirable 22 LR. This pistol was probably produced in 1941 or early 42 as it is stamped with the Nazi "Eagle/N" proofs versus the earlier commercial Crown/N proofs. The requirement to use Nazi "Eagle/N" proofs became law in June 1939 for all firearms and began being implemented in April 1940. The Nazi Eagle/N proof started being used on Walther PPs starting at approximately serial number 143500P; Consequently, this is a very early Nazi proofed pistol. It has the high polish, all blue/black Walther commercial finish with the black plastic grips. As noted, it is accompanied by its "original" wood grain Walther shipping box correctly numbered (matching) to the pistol; an extreme rarity in and of itself. It includes an original small Walther tin cleaning kit box that holds the cleaning cloth still in its wrapper, the small glass vial and the yellow polishing cloth, the cleaning rod and a 1939 dated original Walther instruction manual. The pistol itself is marked on the left side of the slide with the Walther Banner followed by "Waffenfabrik Walther, Zella-Mehlis (Thur)/Walthers Patent Cal.22" followed by "Mod PP" and it has the early style 60 degree safety. The right side has the correct Nazi "Eagle/N" proofs on the slide, chamber and muzzle. It has the standard blade front and notch rear sight. The final 3 digits of the serial number are properly hand-scribed inside the slide. It is fitted with a set of black plastic checkered Walther grips and the scarce large original finger rest extension on the base of the magazines. The box has the original green and white Walther label on the lower right corner which is correctly marked: "Walther Autom. Pistol/Mod. PP/Cal. 22" with the lower portion of the label numbered: "143462 P". This very rare early Walther pistol includes 2 boxes of pre-war German SINOXID 22 LR ammunition.

Excellent with 99% of the original pre-war blue finish still remaining with just a hint of wear on the very front edges of the slide from being in the box. The grips and extended finger rest base on the magazines are also in excellent condition. The box and accessories are also in near excellent with some minor scuff and rub marks on the edges with the corners showing more wear and slight separation. The top of the box and end label is all intact and very readable. Just an outstanding, super high condition all original pre-war Walther PP pistol in the very desirable 22LR.
