Measuring 37 3/8 inches overall with a 32 1/4 inch single fuller blade with "PAUL WEYERSBERG & Co WAFFENFABRIK SOLINGEN" etched on the spine with niter blue enhancement, vinework on the spine, and a set of 12 1/4 inch long niter blue enhanced etched panels on each side showing scroll decoration on both, crossed cannons on the left, and "Wachtmeister Grimme/Stab III/A.R.6" in gold accented lettering on the right. Gilt brass hilt with a Nazi eagle on the obverse guard/languet, "RG" on the reverse languet, raised oak leaf and acorn designs, and a wire wrapped black celluloid grip. With a black enamel finished sheath. Included with the sword is are photocopies of correspondence (mostly in German with some English translations) with the Veterans' Associations of the Wachtmeister's former units, and a copy of a group of Battalion III NCOs, which includes Grimme.

Very fine with some light spotting and wear on the excellent blade, strong gold and niter blue finish, some dents and spotting on the fine gunmetal blue scabbard, and mild handling marks overall.
