Description:

This is a late WWI German artillery Luger rig. The top of the barrel extension is dated 1918 and the front toggle has the "DWM" logo. These Artillery Lugers have the desirable long barrel and come with a flat wooden board stock, leather holster and shoulder straps. The right side of the barrel extension has the standard "Crown/Script" letter proofs followed by the Imperial Eagle firing proof, which is also on the right side of the barrel. It has the standard military serial number placement with the full serial number on the underside of the barrel, front of the frame and left side barrel extension. The various smaller parts having the last two digits, "20". The safety area and extractor are both correctly marked; "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN". The sights are the correct inverted "V" front and the tangent rear that is graduated from 100-800 meters. It has a set of period replacement, checkered walnut grips and a unmarked tin plated magazine body with a unmarked, repinned/replacement wooden base. Also as noted it comes with a flat, board, walnut stock, leather holster and attaching straps, unmarked reproduction tool and cleaning rod. The holster, has a second closure stud on the front of the flap, (as it was a Weimar reissue) and the back is stamped "1920/W.K./1150.

Rating Definition:

Very good as partially refinished (straw) with 70% of the faded blue finish remaining with wear and blue loss on the muzzle, side plate hump and frame rails with the grip straps, and center section of the barrel having oxidized and turned a dark brown patina. The various small parts have been restrawed and have now aged out. It has matching numbers on the various pistol parts except for the grips and magazine. The grips are in poor condition with checkering in the center section of the grips with the edges having been sanded to meet the edges of the frame. The refinished stock is in good condition showing minor handling marks, light pressure dents/scratches on the sides and edges. The attaching iron has 80% of the blue finish with wear on the front and sides. The holster is in very good condition with scuffing and light scratches on the face and sides with the stitching intact.
