This is an extremely scarce, pre-war Walther PP semiautomatic "Reichsbahndirektionen" pistol rig with the scarce "RBD" (Reich Railway Division) markings on the front grip strap. This rare pistol is also accompanied by the even rarer original pre-war black leather holster, also marked with an original "RBD" ink stamp inside the holster. The Reichsbahndirektionen or RBD was basically the Railway Police that were responsible for all security, sabotage and criminal matters associated with the German railway systems. In 1927, the Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft was divided into 24 Reichsbahn divisions or districts very similar to the organizational structure of the SA with each division responsible for their own geographical area of Germany. Like many Nazi organizations they exclusively used Walther pistols for their Police and Security personnel, with probably not more than a few hundred pistols, issued within each division. This rare example is marked "RBD Munster (Westf.)" on the front grip strap. The unique pistol is accompanied by the even rarer all black, pre-war leather holster that also has the RBD markings. It is marked with "D.R.G.M." on the lower front flap and inside the holster flap it has a partial ink stamp of: "RBD Erfurt/BahnSchule". The pistol itself has the standard "crown/N" commercial proofs on the frame, slide and muzzle area of the barrel. The slide has the Walther banner, two-line legend and "Mod. PP" on the left side. Fitted with checkered Walther banner grips. It is complete with two original Walther marked magazines, both with the back plastic finger extension.

Very fine, possibly arsenal refinished overall. The pistol retains 98% of the blue finish showing some mild thinning and limited minor pitting. The grips are excellent with a few minor handling marks and overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The holster is excellent.
