This is a U.S. Army contract Colt Model 1903 hammerless pistol that was manufactured in 1943 and later issued to B.G. Ralph Richards in September 1967. The left side of the slide is marked with the two-line Colt factory address and patent dates, (Apr 1897 and Dec 1903) with the Rampant Colt behind the serrations. The right side has the two-line designation: "COLT AUTOMATIC/CALIBRE 32 RIMLESS SMOKELESS". The right side of the frame is marked "U.S. PROPERTY" and the serial number "570376" is on the left side. The left side of the trigger guard bow is marked with the Colt triangle "VP" proof and a "4"; the right side has a single "57" stamp. The slide has the standard fixed sights. The magazine is marked "CAL. 32/COLT" on the bottom. It has a light gray parkerized finish and is fitted with checkered walnut grips with silver Colt medallions. It is complete with the original issue papers from Rock Island Arsenal dated Sept 1967 and the same serial number is recorded in the book: "The Colt U.S. General Officers Pistol" by Horace Greeley. It comes with a unmarked black leather holster, a spare magazine (still wrapped up) and a cleaning rod and brush, along with the original shipping box, when it was shipped to B.G. Richards.

Near mint as arsenal refurbished with 99% of the gray parkerized finish overall. The walnut grips are also in very fine condition with nice distinct checkering showing light wear across the checkering with minimal handling marks. An exceptionally nice high condition Colt 32 General Officers pistol.
