Description:

Manufactured in 1941 the Robert Sears (RS) inspected Colt 1911A1's were among the last to use the Colt commercial blue finish as opposed to the wartime standard parkerization, and most were subjected to heavy wartime use and post-war arsenal refitting. Fixed sights, with the two-line, two-block address divided by the Rampant Colt on the left side of the slide, "P" on top and matching serial number around the firing pin. "R.S." inspected frame stamped on the top and the left side with "T/VP" and "73" on the trigger guard, short milled trigger, checkered wide hammer, slide stop, thumb safety and mainspring housing, hollow-back Colt grips, "B" marked two-tone magazine and a blue finished Colt barrel. With two extra magazines (one modern "Shooting Star" brand 8-round, and an unknown make in a brown paper wrapper).

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 85% plus of the original blue finish, showing areas of gray patina on the slide and grip straps, brown on the trigger, bright edge wear and scattered handling marks. The grips are fine with a few dings on the checkering and tool marks on the screw heads. Mechanically excellent.
