This is a nice example of a Colt Ace pistol as manufactured in 1941. The pistol has the high polish blue finish overall with the polished chamber area on the barrel. The left side of the slide is marked with the two-line Colt Hartford address and 1897-1913 patent dates and the Rampant Colt, with right side marked "COLT" followed by "ACE" enclosed in a diamond and ".22 LONG/RIFLE". The slide is fitted with adjustable target rear sight and half moon front sight. The right side of the frame is marked with the serial number and an assembly number "71" on the trigger guard bow, with the left side marked with the "VP/triangle" proof and a "5" on the left trigger guard bow. It has the standard checkered trigger, slide stop lever, thumb safety, hammer spur and arched mainspring housing. It is one blued, half-tone, ten-round magazine marked on the bottom "COLT/ACE/22 L.R.".

Excellent with 97% plus of the blue finish overall with edge and high spot wear with minor blue loss on the very front edge of the slide. The grips are in very fine condition with nice distinct checkering with no visible handling marks with dark oil stains around all four grip screw holes and an indentation on top right. A very nice, high condition late pre-war Colt Ace 22LR pistol.
