Manufactured in Japan, the Model 23 Classic was only imported in 1986 and 1987. Dual white bead sights on the matte rib with the East Alton address on the left barrel, "MADE IN JAPAN" on the right, a gold washed "20" marking on the rear of the rib, improved cylinder and modified chokes, 3 inch chambers and ejectors. The frame is lightly scroll engraved with a gold finished single trigger, selective tang safety and a golden pheasant on the underside. Checkered walnut pistol grip stock with an ebony insert at the forearm tip, engraved steel grip cap, unmarked inscription panel and a solid Winchester recoil pad. Length of pull is 14 1/4 inches. With a luggage-style takedown case.

Excellent with 97% original blue finish showing some mild scattered surface rust on the grip cap, barrel and receiver and minor handling marks overall. The stock is very fine with a few spots of white residue, mild handling marks, crisp checkering and high-quality figured grain. The case is excellent. Mechanically excellent.
