Description:

Produced in 1898 as a Mark One rifle, this Enfield has seen a number of upgrades, including an upgrade to the Mark II standard in 1905, a through reproofing in 1908 and finally conversion into a single shot 22 caliber rifle by A.G. Parker and Company at an unknown date. Fitted with a fixed blade front sight and a tangent rear sight with on-board windage adjustment, as well as the volley sights on the left side of the forearm and frame. The various proof and date marks are present on the socket, along with an "broad arrow in D" stamp of Australia on the front receiver ring. Fitted with a smooth full length stock with sling swivels, "AGP" stamped on the underside of the wrist, additional Enfield and Australia stamps on the right side of the buttstock next to a brass disc marked "6.06/13RD/88", "C/334" stamped on the heel and a smooth brass buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Very good as Arsenal refurbished, showing areas of brown patina and mild pitting overall. The stock is fair, with dents, scuffs, dings and scratches appropriate for a field-used rifle, as well as some play in the buttstock at the socket. Some parts (clip guide, magazine internals, etc.) were removed during the conversion and are not included. Mechanically very good.
