Description:

Manufactured in 1943, the Number 4 Mark 1 (T) bolt action rifle was Great Britain's main-line sniper rifle through WWII and into the 1960s. Fitted with a blade front and folding peep rear sight, with the rear fixed "battle sight" properly removed to make space for the scope and a brass bead secured to the front sight. Standard markings are present on the frame, with the socket marked "M47/1943/AD8365/TR". The Number 32 Mark II scope is also dated 1943, with "OS 1650A/No 8343" on the body, the base numbered "545c" and "34701", and the rings marked "Z94" and "Z95" at the front and rear, respectively. Smooth straight wrist stock, with a screw-mounted raised comb, a brown leather sling and an alloy buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Very good as refurbished, with 70% of the Arsenal blue finish, showing some light handling marks and areas of brown patina overall. The lightly sanded, reoiled stock is good, with some filled repairs, mild dents, and a small chip absent from the compartment lid. Optics are slightly out of focus, with mild handling marks on the repainted exterior. Mechanically fine.
