A) Webley Model 1908 Pistol with Holster and Metropolitan Police Markings

Description:

A redesign of the Model 1905, the Model 1908 was accepted by the Metropolitan Police for issue to it’s officers. Blade front and fixed notch rear sights, with the four-line address, caliber and date (1911) markings on the left side of the slide, along with the "crown/M.P." stamp and the Webley "winged bullet". Fitted with a serrated hammer and safety switch, nickel finished magazine, checkered grips and with an unmarked brown leather flap holster.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 60% of the original blue, showing areas of brown and gray patina, particularly the back strap, bright edge wear and scattered handling marks. The grips are very good, with a lighter color on the left panel and mild scuffs and scratches. The holster is fair, with some scuffing and lost stitching. Mechanically fine.

Manufactured without sights, with Birmingham proofs on several components, the 3-line address and caliber marks on the left side of the slide ahead of the Webley "winged bullet", serrated hammer, checkered safety and checkered hard rubber grips.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 75% of the original blue finish, showing areas of brown patina, high edge wear and scattered handling marks. The grips are fine, with a few light scuffs. Mechanically fine.
