This is a very good example of a 1917 dated DWM Model Artillery luger rig. The chamber is dated "1917" and the front toggle has the "DWM" monogram. The right side of the barrel extension has the three "crown/ letter" proofs with a Imperial Eagle firing proof, which is also found on the barrel and breechblock. It has the standard front sight and the fully adjustable artillery rear sight both having the desirable "fine tune" adjustments. It is correctly marked "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" for safe and loaded, and it has the correct checkered walnut grips and nickel magazine with the wooden base. The base is stamped "8670/a/+". Also included with the pistol is a brown reproduction leather flap holster, flat board, shoulder stock and double magazine pouch. The leather components are all unmarked but nicely made. The holster includes the shoulder straps, reproduction take down tool and wood handled cleaning rod.

Fine with 80%of the faded original blue finish with edge and high spot wear overall, with thinning on the grip straps, and blue loss on the muzzle area, front frame rails and side plate hump. The top of the barrel extension and rear areas of the barrel, has some very light minor rust spotting just starting to show up on the blue, with the left side of the muzzle showing some small areas of very minor pin-prick pitting. The grips are in very good condition with visible checkering on both sides with even honest wear across the grips on both sides. The reproduction leather holster, shoulder stock, magazine pouch and straps are all in like new condition. This luger has matching number on the various parts except the magazine.
