Description:

This is a very nice example of an original example of a late WWII K98 bolt action rifle as manufactured by the BRNO factory in Czechoslovakia. These were the standard Nazi K98 bolt action rifle that were used by all German forces throughout WWII. This very late war example has the unique "double letter" suffix serial number "7838aq", which indicates that the BRNO factory had used all the single letter coded serial numbers and was then starting on the set letter suffix. The receiver is correctly stamped "dot/Eagle 63/1944" with the side wall marked with the block "K98". It has all the correct late war stamped parts to include the trigger guard, floor plate and barrel bands all correctly serial numbered and matching to the rifle. It also has the correct, all matching late war bolt assembly. It is fitted with the correct laminated stock and handguard that is fitted with the cupped sheet metal butt plate. It is complete with a sheet metal front sight cover, cleaning rod and reproduction leather sling.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 95% plus of the original wartime blue finish with some minor thinning on the trigger guard bow and front edge of the trigger guard. The stock is in very fine condition with minimal handling marks that have been stained dark either when issued or during the war. It has not been sanded and there is a partial "dot" proof on the underside if the stock. It has all matching visible numbers. A very nice late WWII Nazi K98 rifle.
