The barrel and receiver are marked with the standard "crown over N/B/U" proofmarks. The barrel is marked with a single "crown/N" mark, a small eagle stamp, and the word "NITRO" in a script font on the left side just forward of the receiver. The barrel top is marked "O.S.Z.". All barrel and receiver markings are pre-war German in origin. The right buttstock flat is marked "AP" in large block letters.

Rating Definition:

Very fine overall with 95% original polished blue finish. Rifle displays areas of scattered minor surface pitting, minor edge and muzzle wear, handling marks on the bolt handle, and scattered spotting, most prominently on the butt plate. Stock is very good with scattered pressure indentations and attractive color and grain. Mechanically excellent.
