Description:

This is a very nice example of a very early Japanese "Baby Nambu" pistol as manufactured by the Tokyo Koishigawa Arsenal. This pistol has a high quality rust blue finish and straw colored trigger, magazine release, sear pivot pin and bolt lock, a bright finished bolt, and checkered mahogany grips. The magazine has a nickel-plated body with an aluminum base. The top of the chamber area bears the four intertwined cannon balls of the Tokyo Arsenal and the right side of the receiver has the Japanese Kanji markings over the serial number "759". The matching serial numbers are also visible on the underside of the bolt, the back side of the cocking knob, the back of the magazine, and on the inside of each grip panel. It is complete with a reproduction Baby Nambu holster and shoulder strap. The "Baby" Nambu is perhaps the most desirable Japanese semi-automatic pistol.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with a 80% plus of the slightly faded original blued finish showing minor blue loss on the front edges of the upper slide and some minor blue loss down both sides and also down the main spring housing. The front grip strap and grip safety both show some minor thinning and blue loss on edges and high spots, with some spotting and dulling of the blue on the back strap. The very front edge of the main spring housing also shows some minor pin-prick pitting. The various small parts retain traces of their original straw colors. The grips are in very good condition overall with nice checkering with some minor wear across the tops of the checkering with a noticeable scratch on the lower right side grip with a couple minor pressure dings with a small chip on the left side below the take-down button. The holster is like new.
