Description:

The Type 10 was an Imperial standard through the Second World War. Produced without sights, a rust blue finish overall, the Kokura Arsenal marking on the left side, serrated barrel catch, bobbed double action hammer, ribbed hardwood grips and a lanyard ring. Included with the flare gun is a scarce late war holster, produced chiefly from treated canvas, with brown leather reinforcement at the tip and mid-section, as well as leather tabs and loops. The interior of the flap is hand marked for a captain Max Llorente(sic) of "GUERILLA(sic)/FORCE I/TARLAC,TARLAC"; Tarlac City is the capital of Tarlac Province in the Philippines, a hotbed of guerrilla warfare during and after the Second World War, where most famously a combined group of Americans, Philippine Army personnel and local guerrillas banded together to liberate the survivors of the Bataan Death March from Japanese captivity.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 85% of the blue finish, showing areas of brown patina, patches of mild pitting and bright edge war. The grips are good with some mild dents and scuffs. Mechanically needs adjustment. The holster is good with some mild cracking and scuffs. Japanese canvas gear, treated or rubberized to withstand jungle heat and moisture, almost never ages gracefully, leaving few examples in any fit state for display.
