This lot contains a large number of documents and four uniforms related to the career of Lieutenant Colonel Richard Wright of the Canadian and U.S. Air Forces during WWII along with a full box of Captain Otto Carl Dowling related documents from WWI and the Interwar Period. Wright joined the Canadian Air Force prior to the U.S. entry into WWII and then transferred to fly among his fellow Americans after Pearl Harbor. He received a multitude of awards for his service to the British/Canada, U.S., and United Nations many of which are included. Captain Dowling served in the Navy during WWI and WWII and then as governor of American Samoa from 1934-1936. The items in the group include: Wright's framed officer appointment from the Royal Air Force, Royal Air Force blue/gray jacket with two Canada patches and "Wright" tag, U.S. blue uniform with jacket and pants, U.S. tan uniform with jacket, shirt, tie, 2 U.S. pins and two 2-bar pins, U.S. blue uniform jacket and pants with medals and Lt. Col. Emblems, five shadow boxes with medals, pins, and patches, bag of photos, box of scrapbooks with newspaper articles and photos, LUCKYBAG, 1920, two large patches, file and envelopes full of documents framed membership certification for the Caterpillar Club and three boxes of books, plaques, framed photos, framed documents, and binders of paperwork including a list of Wright's missions. The items are in overall fine to very good condition. The trove of documents alone are certainly full of rich historical details!
