Manufactured in 1925, this rifle has blade front and adjustable sporting type rear sights on a round barrel marked with the two-line address and patent information on the left ahead of the rear sight and the caliber designation at the breech, a half magazine, and a smooth straight wrist walnut stock and forearm with a crescent buttplate with brass trapdoor. This latter feature is unusual for this model and may have been a special order request. The barrel and receiver have the factory proof stamped at the breech. The upper tang is stamped with the three-line model and trade mark information, and the underside of the frame has the serial number. The bottom of the forearm and buttstock have sling swivel studs with hook sling swivels attached.

Very fine. The rifle retains 80% plus of the original blue finish with some thinning on the barrel and a brown patina forming. The exposed surfaces on the frame have a dark brown patina. The wood is fine with a period replacement forearm with some light abrasions and pressure marks overall. Mechanically excellent and has crisp markings.
