Description:

Approximately 20,000 of these unique revolvers were manufactured from 1861 to around 1865. This is one of under 9,000 produced for civilian sales. The frame top strap is marked "SAVAGE R.F.A. Co. MIDDLETOWN. CT./H.S.NORTH PATENTED JUNE 17 1856/JANUARY 18 1859. MAY 15 1860". The serial number "3207" is marked on the bottom of the barrel which is also marked the number "2543" crossed out and on the back strap under the right panel. The underside of the grip panels is also marked with "3207" in pencil. It has brass cone front and notch rear sights and smooth walnut grips.

Rating Definition:

Good as partially refinished and fitted with replacement parts. The barrel and frame have gray and brown patina with spotting. The cylinder is refinished with bronze tones in the rear portions. Rich case colors are visible on the hammer and traces of the case colors are seen on the trigger, guard, and other small components. The grips are very good with some scratches and dings. Mechanically fine with clear markings.
