Description:

This revolver was manufactured in 1862 with the top barrel flat marked "-- ADDRESS COL. SAML. COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA--". The left side of the frame is marked "COLTS / PATENT", and the cylinder is roll engraved with the Texas naval battle scene and marked "COLTS PATENT NO. 9973". The matching full or partial serial number is marked on the loading lever, barrel, frame, trigger guard, cylinder, back strap, wedge and cylinder pin. The trigger guard has a "6" on the left side rear shoulder. The revolver is equipped with the standard cone front sight, hammer notch rear sight and one-piece varnished walnut grip.

Rating Definition:

Fair. The revolver displays a mottled gray patina with light pitting and various minor marks. The brass has a nice aged patina. The grip is fine with a chip on the lower left, light scratches and handling wear. The action remains fine, and the markings aside from the cylinder scene remain clear.
