Description:

This Model 1862 Police has the early serial number "671" and correct early features including the Hartford barrel address and silver plated iron grip frame. It features post front and hammer notch rear sights, a smooth one piece walnut grip, and a rebated cylinder. A large number of the Model 1862 Police and Pocket Model of Navy Caliber revolvers were converted for metallic cartridge making original surviving percussion examples more desirable. All of the visible serial numbers match.

Rating Definition:

Good. The revolver has primarily a well established mottled brown patina with various minor nicks and marks. 20% of the silver plating remains on the iron grip straps. The grip is very good with light handling and storage type wear and small scrapes and chips. Despite the well worn appearance, the action remains excellent, and the visible markings are clear.
