Description:

This is a fine example of a Colt Pocket Conversion revolver that was manufactured circa 1873. The revolver features an octagon barrel with cone front sight and the New York U.S. America address on top and a cut out for a percussion model loading lever. The rebated cylinder has the stagecoach hold up scene. The frame has a recoil shield with a loading gate and is marked with "PAT. JULY.25.1871./PAT.JULY.2.1872." The revolver is fitted with a high polish varnished walnut grip and has the matching serial number on the barrel, frame, cylinder, trigger guard, grip, and rear strap. The wedge is unmarked, and the cylinder pin is numbered "170". The left side of the cylinder is marked "36 CAL".

Rating Definition:

Fine. 60% of the original blue finish, 70% of the case colors, and 50% of the silver plating remain with a brown patina on the balance of the barrel and an aged patina on the exposed brass. The remaining silver plating varies from lighter to nearly black patina. The markings, including the cylinder scene, are clear. The grip is very good with some slight scratches. The action is excellent.
