Description:

Copies of Deringer's popular pocket pistols were manufactured and imported by Edward K. Tryon & Company in the 1860s to 1875. This is a Philadelphia produced gun based on the lack of foreign proof marks. The barrel is marked "E. K. TRYON PHILADA" in some what staggered lettering on the top of the barrel and "157" on the right side at the breech. Aside from the pattern welded barrel and German silver plates, the metal surfaces display scroll engraving. It is fitted on a rounded pistol grip stock with checkered grip.

Rating Definition:

About good. The barrel and lock display a gray patina with some light spotting. The German silver components have a lightly aged patina. The stock is fair with partially smoothed checkering, the tear drop butt cap absent, and a small repair on the left side. The action is fine, and the markings are clear.
