This pistol has extensive ornamentation including martial themed relief designs in silver, inlaid along the length of the barrel. Light engraving on the lock, and extensive silver wire inlays and engraved golden inlay on the stock. Some of the martial designs include crescent moons and crescent moons with stars suggesting origin in the Middle East as does the undeciphered calligraphy on the top of the barrel. The full length stock has a European style buttplate with tangs extending up the side of the grip and it has a Russian style miquelet lock of the type used in the 18th and 19th centuries. The very rare large size of this pistol suggests mounted use.

Very fine. Solid silver mounts all intact and in very fine condition. The lock and barrel have a lightly aged patina while the balance of the steel surfaces have a brown or gray patina with some pitting and oxidation. The stock is fine with a gap at the junction with the buttcap, all of the golden inlay intact, most of the silver wire inlay, though some is loose or absent, and some minor marks. The action is fine.
