Description:

This rifled flintlock pistol is marked "Anton Baumann" on the barrel and has the same over "in Munchen" on the lock plate which has border engraving. There is a "1" on the top of the barrel at the breech suggesting it was part of a pair. The furniture has more than three quarter coverage engraving and relief designs including a soldier on the trigger guard. The barrel has a brass blade front sight, and the upper tang has a notch rear sight with two folding leaves. It is mounted on a walnut stock with carved accents and contrasting forend tip that matches the tip on the wooden ramrod.

Rating Definition:

Good. The pistol retains traces of finish with primarily brown and gray patina throughout and some spots of oxidation. The stock is fair to fine with some material absent near the muzzle on the left and some small cracks. The action is fine, and the markings are crisp.
