Description:

This is marked "London" in script and has two English style but likely spurious proofs on the upper left flat. It was not uncommon for foreign manufacturers in countries such as Belgium to attempt to pass their firearms off as having been made in the much more renowned gunsmiths in London. It has a slender lock with small flash pan, engraving or relief designs on many of the components including the pineapple trigger guard finial, and is fitted on a walnut stock with checkered grip, initial shield, and carved designs near the upper tang. Oddly, it has a rear sight but no front blade or post.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The barrel displays an attractive aged patina. The lock and most of the other components have a dark patina while the trigger guard has more recently done case coloring. The stock is also very good with crisp checkering, some chips, scrapes, and small holes. The action needs some attention as it will not hold full cock.
