This shotgun has detailed floral relief patterns with textured backgrounds on nearly all of the metal surfaces aside from the Damascus pattern barrels and rear portion of the buttplate. Just behind the hammer on the left lock plate is "VERNEY JNE", and "A LYON" is on the right plate. "MERLEY T" in an oval is stamped under the break lever. The bottom of the barrels have various small stamps. The rib is fitted with a bead front sight and is unmarked. The shotgun has a straight wrist buttstock with a sling swivel on the bottom. A second swivel is fitted to the bottom of the barrels. The bores at the muzzle end are the equivalent of 12 gauge full chokes. The chambers are 2 5/8 inches, and the length of pull is about 13 5/8 inches.

Very good. The barrels retain attractive Damascus patterns with some brown patina, and the remaining metal surfaces display primarily a gray patina. There are some areas of light oxidation overall. The stock is fine with some cracks in the figure on the butt and near the breech on the left and some overall minor scrapes. The action is very good. The engraving remains crisp.
