Manufactured in the 1890s with a rebated barrel and a band of floral engraving. The removable side plate has a checkered pattern around the edge while the frame side has a floral leaf design. The center of the removable plate is marked "CHICAGO FIRE ARMS CO./CHICAGO ILL", and the frame is marked "THE PROTECTOR/PATENT. MCH.6.83. AUG.29.93." The sides have checkered hard rubber panels as does the plunger. The internal numbers match. Included with the pistol is part of an original box with the directions adhered to the inside.

Fine. The pistol retains 75% of the original nickel plating with some flaking, a few nicks and some brown patina/oxidation. The grip panels are very good with mostly crisp checkering aside from a small smoothed spot on the removable plate. The action needs some attention.
