This is a 2nd Empire era French Army fire brigade helmet. The skull and peaks are brass with a high brass comb decorated with floral designs. The front peak has a leafy branch design. There is a front plate with a large flaming bomb with a banner at the bottom marked "SAPEURS POMPIERS". The comb has a short and stiff hair crest. There is a plume holder on the left side with a red feather plume. The chin scales have round ear bosses. There is a leather liner.

Good, the helmet has a generally bright appearance with several dents and a long crack with some missing material on the right side of the skull. The crest and feather plume are very good. The liner is poor.
