This is a fine example of a very desirable 3 1/2 inch barrel, Colt 1877 DA revolver with etched barrel panel markings with the all nickel plated finish and hard rubber grips. The top of the barrel has the later slightly longer, two-line markings of "COLTS' PT. F.A. MFG. Co./HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A." with the left side marked with the rare etched barrel panel markings of "COLT D.A.38". The left side of the frame has the standard Colt three line patent dates. It has matching serial number on the frame, trigger guard and back strap. The cylinder is unnumbered and the underside of the barrel is stamped ".38". The left rear side of the left trigger guard bow has a single "A" Colt inspector mark. This pistol has the very desirable all nickel plated finish with the Colt niter blue hammer and trigger, and hard rubber grips.

Fine with 70% of the unpolished original nickel plated finish with edge and high spot wear overall. There is a small area around the rear of the barrel and a joining side areas of the top strap with the nickel finish has flaked off. The etched barrel panel on the barrel is readable but light. The various smaller parts, screws hammer and trigger retain traces of their nitre blue finish. The grips are in very fine condition with nice sharp Colt markings on each side with nice distinct checkering showing light wear across the lower edges.
