Manufactured in 1885, this example has the barrel marked with the two line address/Elliot's patent dates (only 1883), "38 Cal.-" at the breech, and is fitted with a German silver blade front sight and adjustable semi-buckhorn style sporting rear sight. The left side of the frame is marked with the Rampant Colt. The serial number is located on the lower tang. It is mounted with a checkered walnut forearm and smooth straight grip stock with crescent steel buttplate. This example has the slide release on the front of the trigger guard and no dust cover.

Very fine. The rifle retains 70% plus of the original blue finish with the finish thinning to a brown patina, some scattered minor scratches, patches of oxidation and some pitting on the rear sight. The reoiled wood is fine with crisp checkering on the forearm, some minor dings and small pressure marks. The action is excellent and the markings are crisp.
