Introduced in 1878, this S&W New Model Three Target revolver has a rare special order 7 1/2 inch barrel. The standard barrel length was 6 1/2 inches. The top of the barrel rib is marked with the late style address "SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS. U.S.A." The matching serial number appears on the butt, cylinder and barrel latch. Pinned blade front and adjustable rear target sights, blue finish with casehardened hammer and trigger guard. Fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with S&W logo at the top.

Very fine. The revolver retains 70% original blue finish with a smooth gray patina on the balance. There is some minor pitting. Traces of original case colors remain on the hammer and trigger guard. The grips are excellent with some minor handling marks near the bottoms. Checkering is crisp overall. Mechanically excellent.
