Originally produced for a Romanian contract and dated 1893, this rifle was outfitted for sporting use by the firm of W.J. Jeffery & Company. Ramp bead blade front sight and an express rear sight fitted with five silver wire accented leaves, with the barrel marked "SIGHTED & SHOT BY W.J. JEFFERY & Co KING STREET St. JAMES'S LONDON" on top, "17201" behind the express sight, and a set of London proofs and nitro marks at the chamber. The frame is fitted with a mounting block on the left side for an unidentified accessory, and the matching-numbered bolt has a short-ranged folding rear sight installed behind the safety. Checkered pistol grip stock, with a horn forearm tip and grip cap, sling eyes, checkered steel buttplate with engraved borders and a pull-through bore cleaner in the buttstock trap.

Very good as London gunsmith upgraded, showing 70% of the blue finish, with areas of brown patina, bright edge wear and scattered handling marks. The stock is very good, with mild dents and dings. Mechanically excellent.
