Description:

Developed in the 1860s by A.J. Peavey, the Peavey Knife Pistol is a multi purpose knife, pistol and alarm gun. In addition to the 2 3/4 inch knife blade and the conventional folding trigger, the pistol is pre-rigged to accept a trip line (not included) for attachment to a door, window, chest or other moving object. Additionally, the patent form describes stabbing the knife blade into a door frame so the door will strike the trigger when opened as an alternate means of setting the trap. The pistol is 7 3/8 inches when opened with the pistol mechanism running the length of the body and numbered to match the patent dates stamped on the hammer, and a pair of smooth ebony grips.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The steel components show a mixed gray and brown overall with a fine aged patina on the brass and light handling marks overall. The ebony panels are also very good with some minor edge chips. A few light dings are present on the blade, and the action is mechanically fine.
