This is an attractive example of a late WWII production Mauser "byf" code Luger pistol as manufactured in 1942. These late production lugers have a dark blue/black salt finish on all the various parts. The top of the chamber is marked "42" with the toggle marked "byf", the war time code for the Mauser factory. The right side of the barrel extension is marked with a German Eagle firing proof and two "eagle/135" proofs. The firing proof is marked on the right rear of the barrel and an "eagle/135" on the left. It has the standard fixed sights with the standard German markings for "safe" and "loaded". The major components are all correctly stamped with the full serial number (9329) with the various smaller parts carrying the last two digits (29), with all matching numbers. The left rear side of the frame is marked "P.08" which is also a feature of these late production Lugers. It has the late war black plastic molded in checkering and is complete with two unnumbered "fxo/Eagle 37" marked magazines with the black unnumbered plastic bases and a "Eagle/135" proofed take down tool. It is complete with a late war all black pebble grain holster that is marked on the back: "egr/42/WaA64" with P08 in the upper right corner. Also on the back side between the belt loops it has been carved with: "SMART", probably the original owners name.

Very fine as partially refinished (cold blue on muzzle and bottom of grip strap) with 95% of the original blue finish on the balance with just a hint of edge wear on the side plate hump and muzzle area. The holster is in excellent condition with a nice even black color overall with a slight stain/discoloration part way down the front of the holster with some finish loss on the toe of the holster. The stitching is tight overall and it has the noted name carved on the back side. An attractive Mauser Luger P08 Black Widow pistol rig.
