Description:

This is an extremely rare Hamada Variation III semi automatic pistol chambered in 7.65 caliber as manufactured at the Tokyo factory from 1942 to 1945. The pistol was no doubt developed to supply military officers with a small sidearm. The Hamada's construction is very similar to the Browning Model 1910 and the DWM Model of the same year. The exact number of Hamadas manufactured is undetermined, however this pistol was manufactured in 1943 and the serial number "02856" would indicate that production was nearing 3,000 in 1943. Some estimates place the total production at around 4,500 to 5,000 7.65mm pistols. How many of these pistols survived the war is unknown, but examples of this type are rarely found in the U.S.. With fixed blade and notch sights and checkered hardwood grips.

Rating Definition:

Fair with an almost uniform smooth brown patina, and some small areas of light pitting. Grips are fair, grip screw is absent, and the left panel is broken down the length. Mechanically poor. The striker mechanism, magazine floor plate, spring and base plate are absent.
