This is an extraordinary example of an all original Mauser manufactured standard barrel Luger pistol that is complete with two original matching magazines. These pistols were manufactured circa 1935/36 with a total of 2,000 Lugers produced under this contract; 1,000 4-inch barreled models and 1,000 8 inch Artillery models. All of these Lugers had their serial numbers and markings written also in Farsi and some Mauser factory proof marks. The chamber area is marked with the Persian Crest with the front toggle marked in Farsi for the Mauser factory. The right side of the barrel extension is marked in Farsi followed by a single Mauser "Crown" proof. The right side has a single Mauser "Crown/U" commercial proofmark followed by the serial number also in Farsi. The full serial, 2491 is marked on the front of the frame and the left side of the barrel extension, with the last two digits (91) marked on each part. This Luger is complete with two original matching magazine both correctly marked in Farsi. The beautiful pistol has the standard blue finish with straw colored small components with checkered walnut grips.

Excellent plus with 99% of the original blue finish overall with no visible blue wear anywhere. The various smaller parts retain 99% of their straw colors overall with a hint of wear on the edges. The walnut grips are also in excellent, like new condition with nice, sharp, distinct checkering on both sides. This is probably the finest known all original Persian Contract Mauser Luger pistol with two matching magazines.
