The barrel of this attractive contemporary long rifle was produced by G. R. Douglas of Cross Lanes, West Virginia. It has a browned barrel and lock without a maker's mark, Rocky Mountain style blade front sight and dovetailed notch rear sight, "pigtail" trigger, brass trigger guard, forend cap, and buttplate; a full length curly maple stock with floral carved accents and brass floral/vine inlay, and includes a ramrod with a brass tip and removable jag. The barrel is marked "G.R. DOUGLAS 45 CAL". The inlays, side plate, and the buttplate have some light engraving.

Very fine as custom made. The rifle is nearly as it left the shop with only some light edge wear and handling/storage type marks aside from some bright strike scrapes on the frizzen likely from test firing. The action is excellent, and the barrel marking and engraving designs are crisp.
