Description:

Measuring 11 1/4 inches overall, this M3 knife is devoid of markings. This example shows no evidence of ever having been marked (see Cole's "U.S. Military Knives, Bayonets & Machetes, Book III" for a similar example). Unmarked fighting knives generally were used for covert operations, as no other plausible explanation is provable other than possibly prototype. The blade is 6 1/2 inches, with a spear point and a sharpened false edge, fitted with a bent "thumb rest" oval guard, a smooth washer grip with brown bakelite spacers at the top and bottom, and a steel pommel cap, With an unmarked brown leather sheath, outfitted with a throat reinforcement staple and steel tip plates.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with some light edge wear present on the blade and mild handling marks overall. The sheath is very fine.
