This is a beautiful example of a professionally restored late WWI era U.S. Army marked Colt Model 1911 semi-automatic pistol. This pistol was manufactured in the last serial number block of Colt contract pistol circa 1918. The left side of the slide has the standard two-line, two-block Colt patents and address divided with the Colt Rampant horse logo in the middle and has "MODEL OF 1911.U.S. ARMY" on the right side. The left side of the frame is roll marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and an "eagle head/S14" inspection mark above the magazine release button. The right side is stamped with only the factory serial number. The rear of the slide above the firing pin retainer is stamped with a "H". The top of the barrel has the separated "P/H" proofs over the chamber. It has the standard WWI parts such as a long smooth trigger, wide checkered hammer, short grip safety, checkered slide stop and thumb safety, flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop. It has been fitted with a set of high quality custom rosewood grips that has company logo: "RIA/ROCK ISLAND AUCTION" relief engraved in the middle and the lower halves laser checkered. It is complete with a two-tone magazine.

Very fine with 99% of the professionally restored blue finish overall with clear sharp markings and proofs. The custom grips are in mint condition. Mechanically excellent. A very nice looking WWI era Colt Model 1911 pistol.
