This ornate pistol was likely produced in the Ottoman Empire, more specifically the Balkans, in the 18th century. It has engraved designs throughout including on the goose neck cock and serrated frizzen (common on Balkan pistols). It was produced without sights and features a pig tail trigger and interesting two piece ramrod with a hardwood tip. The walnut stock has a flared butt and is fitted with a variety of silver ornamentation including a relief engraved butt cap and coordinating panel extending back from the breech, a intricate insert on the wrist with oval coral inserts, and extensive wire inlaid designs. Based on the stepped down smooth appearance on the forend and lack of designs on the forward section of the barrel, it almost certainly had an extended silver band as is often found on Balkan firearms.

About good. Most of the metal surfaces are heavily polished bright with some areas of light to mild pitting and faint designs. Some of the silver has a darker patina. The stock is good with much of the silver wire absent. The action is fine.
