Description:

Manufactured in 1917 as part of a 400-pistol block of 1911s destined for the United States Marine Corps. Blade front and flat top notch rear sights with the two-line, two-block patent dates and address on the let side of the slide bisected by the Rampant Colt and the "U.S. ARMY" nomenclature on the right. The frame is "U.S. PROPERTY" marked and "CHS" inspected frame, with a long smooth trigger, wide checkered hammer, flat mainspring housing with lanyard ring, checkered grips with diamond flats, unmarked two-tone magazine and a conjoined "HP" marked barrel. With a cardboard collector's box and note card, with the latter attributing the pistol to the Marine occupation forces in Nicaragua in 1930.

Rating Definition:

Very good as arsenal refurbished with 70% of the parkerized finish, showing areas of brown patina, bright edge wear, areas of shallow pitting and scattered dents. The grips are good with chips, dings and tool marks on the screws. Mechanically excellent.
